This week’s AIR ride took eight riders to Tim’s Cafe at Thorpe Arch Industrial Estate. The ride out was fairly uneventful, conversation included future cycling plans, future bike purchases and speculation on future invasive procedures for Dom.
The highlight of the ride to the cafe was seeing a horse in Airedale colours (a potential additional income stream for the club?).
We arrived at Tim’s Cafe and filled up on bacon sandwiches and giant mugs of tea (a.k.a The Big Boy®). On a more disappointing note some of the more juvenile members of the club made faces with their sandwiches (mine was loads better than yours Ian…).

On leaving the cafe we discovered that Dan had a puncture. However, after demonstrating to the Valley Strider members watching through the cafe window how efficient Airedale are at basic cycle maintenance, we were soon on our way.
The route back took us through Boston Spa and Bramham and before we knew it we were back in Horsforth. Ride was 44 miles with 3200 feet of climbing for me.

p.s. On a serious note, Dan was knocked off his bike after he left us in Horsforth, luckily it appears that he is not seriously injured. Hope you and your bike are ok Dan.
