Pretty in Pink

7 left Rawdon at 9.0, Dave on a shorter ride only going as far as Bolton Bridge the rest heading for Kilnsey Lakes Café in mild but overcast conditions, the day being brightened by the arrival of Dom, in his bright Pink Rapha Jacket.

The route heading up the valley through Bolton Bridge, Burnsall and Threshfield and on to Kilnsey.

Arriving at Bolton Bridge, Dave turned off heading back home via Otley.

A slight mix up on the way to Barden, Ian & Kim breaking off the front and missing us at Burnsall, assuming we had taken a different route over the bridge at Barden. They continued to the café, not seeing us there, they continued without a stop turning it into a real training ride!!

The remaining 4, Chris, Jonathan, Dom & I, arriving at the café around 11.15. After good Sausage & Bacon Sandwiches, coffee and a chat about the art on the café walls, we headed back.

The return was Via Grassington, Appletreewick and Ilkley, it got quite wet for a time, with heavy drizzle from the low cloud.

Chris not missing out on his lift home as Ian & Kim appeared in their ‘support, car.

Dom pulling Jonathan and I along the A65 (The Power of PINK !!) back to Rawdon.

A good ride with 58 miles and 4040 feet of elevation for me.

Cheers Alan.
