Free hubs and Wardrobes

On a bright but cool April Day the AIR & SRAN set off together to meet Chris and Dave G at Bramhope, after the obligatory photo opportunity, the SRAN was not seen again till the cafe stop.

Dave L not feeling great, opted for a shorter local loop.

5 AIR riders (one down as you will gather from the Secret AIR rider elsewhere) continued with the occasional early stop to investigate the awful noise emanating from Alan’s freehub, eventually diagnosed by Jonathan as ‘sticking pawls’  yes, your guess is as good as mine. Regardless of the noise we carried on to Alne a new destination for most of us.

A headwind kept the effort up but we arrived to see the SRAN boys for a couple of minutes before they left.

During coffee Dom regailed us with a review of his trip to Belgium to ride the cobbles of the tour of Flanders and Paris Roubaix Sportives before watching the pro races. On returning home wondering where half of his clothes were. Following a call to the hotel being told they were still hanging in the wardrobe of his room. Apparently it costs €30 to get clothes back from Belgium.

A tail wind carried us back via Knaresborough to Harewood, Chris & Dave G braveley headed home up Weardley while Dom, Jonathan and Alan did the easier Creskeld back to Rawdon.

66.6 miles (a devil of a ride) and 3415 ft for me at the end.
