A rainy morning and a flurry of apologetic, early morning messages, resulted in three riders meeting at Rawdon for the Saturday ride.
An impromptu meeting was held and a plan was hatched to head out to the tea room in Hebden. Shakedry was clearly this seasons must have accessory as our three intrepid members set off.
The weather was not too bad and the rain began to ease off as we headed towards Ilkey. Ian suggested a slight detour up Cocking Lane as a tribute to Alan’s original planned ride to East Marton.

By the time we passed through Burnsall the rain had stopped, although the skies were still very grey.
We arrived at the Old School Tea Room and managed to get a table inside, the food was as enjoyable as always as we put the world to rights.
On the way back we introduced a second stop at the Cavendish for an ice cream, just to send a message out to the fair weather cyclists.

An enjoyable ride was rounded off nicely by a beer in the Hoptimist in Guiseley (becoming a bit of a habit…). Total distance was 56 miles for me with approximately 4000 feet of climbing.

Cheers, Steve
