Keelham

This Saturday the two groups for the club ride went in different directions.

The SRAN group headed to Keelham, west of Bradford between Haworth and Halifax. Planning this route had told us it was hilly this way, hence the AIR group choosing a slightly flatter ride to Burton Leonard.

The SRAN group of three took an easy route down to Ilkley before climbing Cocking Lane at Addingham Moorside and then Ellers Road (2km at 10%) at Crosshills. The route then descended Goose Eye and wended through Oakworth and Oxenhope before climbing up to Keelham and the cafe.

The return leg made a figure of eight, climbing over Wainstalls and Moorside Lane to Haworth before coming back by Bingley, Saltaire and Old Hollings Hill.

For a short ride this was a tough one on a humid day – just under 60 miles and just over 6,000 ft climbing. The Robertshaw’s Bakery Cafe was good and the views and descents from the tops were great!
