A fabulous day was had by all on the Saturday club ride with 6 riders in the AIR (Airedale Intermediate Riders) and 3 in the SRAN (Saturday Ride at Nine), proudly representing the club in their TI Raleigh-inspired kits on our weekly Saturday ride.

This week, we headed Eastwards from our usual start point in Rawdon, North Leeds, to Birkin Fisheries Tea Room, a 70mi circular route, as was planned in the monthly club meeting. These take place at the Horsforth Brewery, every third Monday of the month.
Nick and David Lacy opted to shorten their route due to time restraints, and broke off from the AIR peloton, around 30 miles in.

Chris, David G, Dom and Jonathon, meanwhile, went the extra mile and reached the cafe for a refreshment break and refuel, arriving around midday.
SRAN riders Nathan and Hamish, accompanied by new rider Jimmy, took a slightly longer route and met the AIR team at the cafe just in time for a team photo, taken by Chris.

The day was a resounding success, with ideal weather conditions, and was topped off with Dom’s sharing of “items found on X-Rays” including, but not limited to, an Old Spice bottle. I won’t elaborate on where this was lodged in the patient, or why Dom so quickly recognised the shape.
