This week’s ride was a lumpy 60 miles out to Oliver’s Pantry in Ripon. Four riders met at Rawdon, Dave L went off on a short solo ride leaving Steve, Alan and Jimmy to meet Ian at Poole.
Jimmy was on a short steady leg warmer before a brutal sounding off road race on Sunday. He was on a cyclo cross bike with 35mm knobbly tyres, however, this didn’t appear to be much of a handicap as we climbed up to Armscliffe Cragg.
At North Rigton Jimmy turned back, leaving three riders to head to Ripon.

It was a glorious day for a bike ride, despite a cold start the sun shone consistently making it a very pleasant temperature.
Oliver’s Pantry was busy so we had to get a table outside but it was warm enough in the sunshine.

The food in the cafe was good, Ian was pleased with his eggs, but not as pleased as I was when I spotted hash browns on the menu.
We headed out of Ripon cycling past Bike Monger without Ian spotting it and settled into a steady pace back to Leeds via Knaresborough and Kirkby Overblow.
The ride was 62 miles for me with 4800 feet of climbing, average speed 14 mph.
Cheers Steve
P.s. Moonglu gets excellent reviews as well Ian…
