5 AIR riders met at Rawdon, Jonathan and Nick due to time constraints (or maybe they had seen the elevation profile of the route) were only going up the valley for an early return. Dom, Kim & Alan setting off for Oakworth and the Mill Stack Cafe agreed a steady pace would be the order of the day. The weather improved as the roads went up, and up and up. The route from Glusburn over to Laneshaw Bridge and to Oakworth was a tough one but the views across the moors were stunning in the Autumn sunshine and very much worth the effort.

As the ride was a bit front loaded we unfortunately arrived at the cafe missing the 11.45 am cut off for the breakfast menu by 5 minutes, that said the bacon & syrup Pancakes and soup of the day were deemed delicious.

Leaving the cafe, it was uphill again, surprise, surprise. A lumpy ride over to Bingley serenaded by the Keighley and worth valley steam engine and then a flat route back via Saltaire and Shipley to Hollins Hill, Up again, got us back to Rawdon.
A tough but enjoyable ride.
All in all, 48 miles and 5100 ft for me.
Cheers Alan
