Following discussion with the organisers of the ten Yorkshire Reliability Rides, we will be starting the ride with the following process. 

0900 Sign-on opens. All riders to sign on and pay entry fee.  

Riders to select preferred group according to anticipated average speed:

1 – 24 mph (v fast)

2 – 22 mph

3 – 20 mph (fast)

4 – 18 mph

5 – 16 mph (medium)

6 – 14 mph

7 – 12 mph (slow)

0930 Riders briefing – all please pay full attention to the starter for 2 minutes.

Groups to be called forward in speed order, fastest first. Maximum group size 16 riders. Any larger groups shall be split. 

Ride start with groups set off at 2 minute intervals. 

This format is intended to give everyone the opportunity to ride in a group with others at their preferred speed. It should also avoid groups merging or passing. Dropped riders can fall back to a slower group behind. 

The key points remain that the reliability ride is not a race, with the objective only to complete the route in a reliable manner by 1300. 

Riders at the slower end of the scale may choose to take the short route to ensure finish within the time. 

As there is limited space at the start area, please park in Pool-in-Wharfedale behind the Shell petrol station and ride to the start.
