The sun was shining down on Airedale Olympic this Saturday morning as eight riders met up for the club ride, destination Hebden Tea Room.
Initial conversations centred around whether mudguards were needed and then quickly moved onto politics and the (Airedale) Orange-Faced President of the USA.

It was a glorious day for a ride and the weather cheered everyone up to the extent that there were no complaints about the route going over the Cow and Calf.
It was like going ‘Back in time’ for Dave as he confessed to feeling strong and decided to stay for the full ride (did he hit 88mph on the Cow and Calf descent?).
The cafe stop was as good as always and we enjoyed our coffees and bacon sandwiches. Andre branched out by trying the gluten free avocado cake, which remained unfinished as we left the cafe.

We rode back from Hebden still basking in the sunshine enjoying Jonathan’s stories. Before we knew it, we were back in Rawdon having completed 53 miles and 4000 feet of climbing my average speed was 13.2mph and my average power was 1.21 gigawatts.
Cheers, Steve
P.s. a sports almanac to the first one who identifies the film from the references
