It’s getting hot out here so take off all your clothes…

Just seconds before our rumble in the Dexter car park with VSCC

It was the perfect day for a ride, blue skies, sunshine and a very pleasant temperature. As we met up at Rawdon there was a wide range of attire among members. This ranged from the optimists in shorts, to some riders in long tights, long finger gloves and buffs.

Very quickly people realised that lighter clothing was the wiser choice and people started shedding layers.

“Should I pop on my Shakedry?”

Twelve riders set out for this week’s destination, Lotherton Hall. People had a variety of plans, Tom, Nick and Dom all riding with us part of the way before taking detours and heading back on their own.

Two groups formed after the Dexter but this only resulted in the AIR group being five people behind us in the queue in the Cafe.

It was great to be sat outside in the warm for a change and the sausage sandwich was decent so a thumbs up for Lotherton Hall.

Couldn’t find a cafe photo with Dan’s eyes open

On the way back we even managed to sneak in a cheeky pint at the Brownlee Arms taking advantage of the unseasonably warm weather.

Ride was 50 miles for me, with 3000 feet of climbing. Average speed was 15mph.

Cheers, Steve
