A cold overcast day couldn’t deter eight AOCC members from meeting up for Saturday’s ride. Dave L was only with us briefly as he turned off at Pool.
The cafe stop this week was the Four Lane Ends Farm shop, via Fewston reservoir.

There was plenty of chatter on the ride, Ian and Raino were reminiscing about their youth- turns out they went to the same school. Other topics included Audax rides, Newcastle vs Villa and the Fred Witton.
We also had some useful cycling tips shared around the group, Ryan showed us how to climb faster (be younger and lighter) and Steve showed us how not fit mudguards (forget to tighten all the bolts).
At the cafe there was a log burner and we moved tables, when the opportunity arose, to be as close as possible.
Ian ordered a double egg sandwich which promptly exploded on first contact, creating an eggy mess for him to eat.

The return journey was as hilly as on the way out, but the conversation flowed, distracting tired legs and before long we were back in Rawdon.

The ride was 42 miles, with 4100 feet of ascent, average speed was 12.5mph. It was an another great day out, see you next week for more cycling-based socialising.
Steve
