18/11/2023 – Six get damp in Skipton

This weeks Saturday ride was a combined AIR/SRAN outing to Skipton. After a cold and wet start the weather improved as we approached Bolton Abbey. The roads were muddy and our bikes got filthy but spirits remained high.

The cafe stop was at The Coffee House in Skipton. A great cafe as they can satisfy even the most particular of coffee connoisseurs from Airedale Olympic. We also made a shopping stop at Chevin Cycles where Ian finally got to stare at bikes for ten minutes after he was so cruelly overruled in Harrogate last week.

On the way back four of us headed over Barden Moor with a tailwind which made the climb seem much easier than usual.

Total distance for me was 57 miles with about 3000 feet of climbing. All in all another great day out, cheers to everyone who made it worthwhile dragging myself out of bed on a wet and grey Saturday morning.
